Bill Odom set a round the world record in 1947 in an A-20 bomber in 73 hours. He took off from Chicago and landed in Chicago.

Bill Odom also had the first non-stop flight from Honolulu to New Jersey in 36 hours in 1949. Unfortunately, not long after that Odom lost his life in a plane crash.
