From what I've read, submersibles, micrrobes forming a reef around the wreck, or landsat are several options.

Ernest Shackleton's wooden ship which sank in 1915 was discovered by using a submersible...

Other options would be using acoustic imaging systems like side-scan sonar, sub-bottom profilers and magnetometers.
