Hilary read about it in the NY press and told President Clinton they should go there for their 21st wedding anniversary. The secret service arrived unannounced at the restaurant and told the management that all phones were disconnected and no one could leave or enter. The restaurant was locked down with secret service guarding the place (one was stationed in the kitchen from start to finish). The Clintons arrived a few minutes later, without a booking. At the end of the night the President signed the wedding certificate of a couple who were having their reception at the restaurant. The bride gave her bouquet to Hilary. What's the name of the restaurant?

The name of the restaurant is Nautilus, founded in 1954, and located in Port Douglas, Queensland, Australia. As per their website, the restaurant "specialises in modern Australian cuisine with Asian and European influences" in a tropical dining setting, and also takes pride in hosting celebrity guests like the Clintons, Mick Jagger, Rod Stewart, David Bowie and Paul Hogan, among others. In October 1996, the Clintons visited Nautilus and had spent the evening there. Reportedly, Hillary had previously seen an article on Nautilus in NYT and had preplanned this visit while finalising their itinerary Down Under.
