They are called Hungry Jack's, because the name Burger King was already trademarked, albeit by a reasonably obscure business. The syllables still fit neatly into exactly the same advertising jingle.
When Burger King moved to expand its operations into Australia, it found that its business name was already trademarked by a takeaway food shop in Adelaide, South Australia.
