A moving 12 metre-high (39.4 feet) gold statue.

The statue is of Niyazov and revolves to follow the sun during the day. Saparmurat Niyazov (1940-2006) led Turkmenistan from 1985 until his death. It was Niyazov who commissioned the Memorial, and his statue, in 1998. The local nickname for this edifice is "The Tripod."

The Monument of Neutrality was originally sited in the central Ashgabat, the country's capital. In 2010 it was shifted to the suburbs.
