Estimates put the figure at around as little as 40 minutes per day. Even then, that time is generally made up of many short periods of sleep, each only lasting for a few minutes. Possibly, that's a result of being a plant eater in a "carnivore eat herbivore" world. It's also a side-effect of being a ruminant: there just aren't enough hours in the day for a giraffe to eat a significant amount of foliage, chew their cud and sleep.
To start, let’s clarify that giraffes only sleep a few hours a day.

Some giraffes don’t even sleep that much. In captivity, adult giraffes have been observed sleeping as much as four and a half hours a day. In the wild, giraffes might only sleep about 40 minutes a day—and only about three to five minutes at a time.
