Juventus means "youth" in Latin. The team was founded on 1 November1897 in Turin (Piedmont, Italy) by a group of students of the Liceo (high school) "Massimo d'Azeglio": as the oldest of them was only 17 years old, the name was particularly fitting. The team's original name was Sport-Club Juventus, which became Football Club Juventus two years later: link https://web.archive.org/web/20131211185543/http://www.juventus.com/juve/en/club/Juventus%20in%20breve/01-La%20storia%20di%20una%20leggenda
