Dickens went out of his way to have the character of Fagin be what the British thought of as a stereotypical Jew. Fagin is a variant of "Faegel" in Yiddish, or the German "Vogl". In Hebrew his last name might have been Tzipori or some other variant. As a first name, however, usually names like Faige are women's names (as in Lady Bird Johnson, or Moses' wife Tziporah). I'm pretty sure that Dickens' character had a first name, but I don't know what it was.
