An atom with ninety-four protons in its nucleus will normally have ninety-four electrons orbiting it (and be labeled a plutonium atom).

The most stable form of plutonium is Pu-244, which has 150 neutrons. Known isotopes of plutonium have from 142 to 152 neutrons.
