O.K., I think I have this right, courtesy of several sites:

Graham Chapman: medicine
Terry Gilliam: physics
Eric Idle: English
John Cleese: law
Terry Jones: English
Michael Palin: history

Thanks Frankie. That's interesting.
I seem to remember Graham being called Dr Graham Chapman so medicine would fit. He probably helped with the "Medical Love Song".
With his animations I might have thought Terry Gilliam was an art student. I wonder if the physics comes in handy for making special effects in his overbudget movies.
Eric Idle studied English? You can tell with song lyrics like "Life's a piece of sh*t, when you look at it".
Well Cleese has often donned the legal wig in various roles. I don't know if it helped with his divorce proceedings though.
Terry Jones seems to present history programmes now, while Michael Palin, the history student, is doing travel, while on Wednesdays he goes shopping and has buttered scones for tea...
