Subject: The Official Share a Story Thread

Posted by: Terry
Date: Aug 24 12

If you are directed here by a FunTrivia challenge, please reply ONLY in this thread for the challenge. Only posts made here will count towards your challenge!

[ And no, you will be DIRECTED to come here. Posting here without having an already issued challenge will not result in anything! Still, you can post a story if you feel like it anyway ;) ]

If sent here, the title says it all. Your challenge is to share a story.

Tell us, briefly, about something funny or interesting that has happened to you recently. Or something sad. Or something scary. Or something exciting. Something funny or strange you saw?

If nothing funny or interesting or scary or exciting has happened, then write us a poem. Or a song. Or tell us a joke.

Or just tell us what you did today. Did all you accomplish was to brush your teeth? Did you fail to even do that? Do share...

Feeling grumpy today? Tell us what irritates you. What TV show can't you stand? What TV show are you watching that you like?

So go ahead, we're listening. The only rules are that you be polite and follow our very simple rules up above.

Tell us a story...

It is warm outside, the roses are really lovely and the laurel is elephant high. Not that I have an elephant to compare, I'm just guessing.

I saw by favourite band, Nightwish, in concert recently. Best two hours of my year.

It's story-time, again. I can always think of stories when it's *not* story-time, but rarely think of anything when it's my turn :-p

Have a good morning/afternoon/evening/night.

I was walking down the road
I wasn't sure where I was going
I was looking for a girl
A girl with waves, her hair a'flowing
I was thinking about her lips, her eyes, her...

Then I got hit by a truck
Lucky for me I only lost one leg, part of an ear...

I love that those Free Little Libraries exist. I found the sequel to the book that I've been looking for for a while. Black House by Stephen King and Peter Straub. The first book is The Talisman.

In my province, New Brunswick, the flooding of the St. John River has reached historic heights. City streets and highways are under water, bridges closed, water flowing through homes and many residents evacuated. Livestock has been relocated, the moose are coming out of the woods and looking for dry land. The devastation is impossible to describe.

I lived without a phone for more than a year. I had to get one today for official reasons. So now I have a phone in silent mode in the kitchen drawer and I'm not willing to use it.

I've just come back from three days on the island of Mull. While I was there I visited the nearby islands of Ulva and Gometra and I walked to the highest peaks of all three islands. Unfortunately the cloud cover was so low that there were no views from the top of Ben More (966m).

I also visited Staffa, and got to see Fingal's cave - my last visit was 21 years ago, but the weather was so rough that they couldn't land the boat on Staffa.

Money is a great gift. It's always the right color even if it's not the right size.
