Senga2. Most people have a fear of water as children, before they learn to swim. I remember being in a swimming class at the local swimming pool. I lost my grip on the float and went under. It happened too quickly for me to panic and within seconds I'd bobbed back up to the surface again. I was so pleased to realise I hadn't drowned and had some natural buoyancy (as we all do), that I lost some of my fear then and was able to let go of the float and try swimming strokes. It's when I learned to swim. It can be learned at any age. Reply #21001. Apr 21 19, 2:09 AM |

I learn to swim when I was 35. I got very angry with myself for having a phobia and put my head under the sea water. It didn’t kill me and I swam raising my nostrils just a tiny bit above the water to breathe. Like a hippo. And the best is swimming with a mask and a snorkel. You watch the underwater world like a diver and float like an air-raft! Senga2, try it, it will open a new world. For me the sea is living a small life in the natural element of the fishes, and forest is living a small life in the natural element of ants and hedgehogs, before coming back to the natural element of people. Three lives. The forest is real. I’m moving to the countryside for the warm season and i’ll dive into the forest every moment I can escape from the garden work. But the sea.. maybe Easter Day and Russian Palm Sunday is the right day to say (and write!) my wish for it to come true! Reply #21002. Apr 21 19, 3:12 AM |

I was watching the Pope's address for Easter from St Peter's Square. I do love a brass band! The main thing that struck me today was the uniforms of the Swiss Guards How amazing they are. Designed by Leonardo da Vinci I think. Yes the colours are amazing and the funny shoes too. But I never noticed the design of the trousers before. If you look closely they are slashed in strips all the way down and underneath are marvellous stripy pants. Have a look if you can. Terrific design! Reply #21003. Apr 21 19, 4:49 AM |

Happy Easter, everyone! And to all Jewish trivia players reading this, I hope you had a Happy Passover! I love Easter, it is a holiday that celebrates life, resurrection, forgiveness, hope, and newness. Any one of those things is worth celebrating! Forgive my overuse of exclamation points, but it is a good day, and with the benefit in my case of having it off from work. Take care, all, enjoy Easter Sunday! Sincerely, TheQueenly1 Reply #21006. Hope everyone had a great Easter! The weather was gorgeous, even if we stayed at home. It's going to turn considerably warmer tomorrow, then back to more seasonable weather. Reply #21012. Apr 22 19, 4:03 AM |

At my last dialysis session my tech was adjusting my needle and she pulled it out. Instead of clamping my hoses she yelled for a RN while I was spurting blood all over the place. Finally the RN came and took over. I feel sorry for the little tech and mad at the same time. She is five months pregnant and had to get down on the floor and clean up all that blood. Reply #21013. I saw a large completely white bird flying over my car near the beach the other day. It was way too big to be a seagull, and it wasn't built like (or flying like) any egret or heron I have ever seen. I would think I had imagined it, except the passenger in my car at the time said, "Whoa, what the heck was that?" After a lot of internet searching I have concluded that it was an albino version of a red-tailed hawk. Most impressive! Reply #21016. Apr 22 19, 12:34 PM |

My husband and I are in Katoomba NSW for a holiday. It has many non-native trees, so they are showing their Autumn colours. Reply #21018. Apr 23 19, 2:08 AM |

We had a band "follower" post a comment on our FB page that he would no longer support or follow us because of "the band's political views". Strange and confusing since we are 5 very different individuals who get along quite nicely even though we have varying views that range from very Conservative to very Liberal and we've never mentioned politics at our shows or on our band page. For us it's all about honoring the music of Paul Rodgers. When I relied to ask what offended him he responded "Doesn't matter. I'm gone!" Oh well...Buh-Bye! Reply #21019. Apr 23 19, 5:22 AM |

Saw my first speckled rattlesnake of the season this weekend. I saw a diamondback last month but speckleds are the rattlers that I usually see where I hike. Reply #21020. Apr 23 19, 8:05 AM |
