Subject: The Official Share a Story Thread

Posted by: Terry
Date: Aug 24 12

If you are directed here by a FunTrivia challenge, please reply ONLY in this thread for the challenge. Only posts made here will count towards your challenge!

[ And no, you will be DIRECTED to come here. Posting here without having an already issued challenge will not result in anything! Still, you can post a story if you feel like it anyway ;) ]

If sent here, the title says it all. Your challenge is to share a story.

Tell us, briefly, about something funny or interesting that has happened to you recently. Or something sad. Or something scary. Or something exciting. Something funny or strange you saw?

If nothing funny or interesting or scary or exciting has happened, then write us a poem. Or a song. Or tell us a joke.

Or just tell us what you did today. Did all you accomplish was to brush your teeth? Did you fail to even do that? Do share...

Feeling grumpy today? Tell us what irritates you. What TV show can't you stand? What TV show are you watching that you like?

So go ahead, we're listening. The only rules are that you be polite and follow our very simple rules up above.

Tell us a story...

Always so funny to me how Canada Day and Independence Day fall so close together. People used to work in the summers back then!

It started as a sunny morning here in Dublin. It is still bright, but it has got cloudy now at lunchtime. The forecast this evening is for rain, expected to be heavy. There is even a weather warning about it. I have to go out around that time to meet some friends and the rain will not stop me. It is the opening of what is going to be a busy weekend, one I am looking forward to.

Summer is here, and I'm only partly done with setting up my portable air conditioner.

It seems the weather is on everybody’s mind, with summer finally shows up. Over on Vancouver Island we had a June-uary where the temperature rarely got above 15, and within a week we are into the low thirties. Better late than never.

So according to the weather forecast for Central B.C., next Tuesday is supposed to have a high of 31C, and then it drops to 21C on Thursday. I've seen this before, where Environment Canada knows that a particular weather pattern will last for a few more day, then stop. They always put the change in the weather at the far end of the forecast.

I took the month of June off from the site (mostly, I only played the monster quiz due to a really slow internet connection in the mountains), and I am enjoying a fast server and the challenge of the games. Belated Happy 4th of July to our American cousins.

Hello ft friends, we're nov just over the point for halfway through 2024. Over here in the atlantic basin, Summer has hit with a vengence. It went to 99 degrees here in Richmond, Va. and with the heat index, it felt like 110 degrees. Okay, that's all for now. everyone have a beautiful day.

After many days of it reaching at least 90 degrees, now I'm in a stretch of period where it won't be over 90 degrees.

My grandson was walking and saw the Paparazzi. He ask who they were
looking for. One of them pointed at Jennifer Lopez.

Mississippi River is rising due to all the rain in the upper midwest. Hope it doesn't get us flooded.

Yesterday they cancelled tonight's fireworks because they expected a lot of rain. Tonight there is NO rain, and I'll bet they are kicking themselves. The fireworks will occur next Saturday instead, which is ridiculously late. I just think that's weird.

Here it rains very hard for about five minutes and then it stops. Just long enough to ruin any plans outdoors.

Brisbane Broncos made the Grand Final of the National Rugby League in 2023 and were early favourites but are fading mid-season and it would be difficult to see how they can reach the same lofty heights in 2024.
Conversely, the Brisbane Lions made the 2023 Grand Final of the Australian Football League. In 2024, they had such a slow start they were written off before the halfway point. However recent form with four straight wins have made them a contender for the 2024 premiership.
