Haven't cried but a few deaths I found senseless in my lifetime: River Phoenix (actor - overdose) Tupac Shakur (rap artist - murdered) Len Bias (american basketball player, college star who o'd on cocaine before he turned professional) Kurt Cobain (suicide) Layne Staley (overdose) Cliff Burton (bus accident) Pelle Lindbergh (Swedish hockey goalie, car accident) Dimebag Darrell (american guitarist, murdered) Also thought Anna Nicole Smith's death was tragic. She had just given birth, her firstborn had recently died, and she was still so young. It was a shame it blew up into such a media sensation. Reply #25. Aug 22 07, 10:24 PM |

I remember crying twice in my life when famous people passed. I was a kid when John Kennedy died but I remember both my brother and I crying with my dad when it happened. I was a teenager when Peter Duel, ( the original 'Smith' of "Alias Smith and Jones"), committed suicide. I was a big fan and I remember my Mom breaking it to me gently. It was quite a shock. He was so young and so full of promise. Reply #26. Aug 22 07, 11:33 PM |

Eddie Guerrero's tribute show on WWE just after his tragic passing had me bawling like a baby. The wrestling world lost a true legend that day. Reply #32. Aug 29 07, 6:30 AM |

Jim Henson. I was moving my parents when it happened. I had to pull over to the side of the road for a while to let it sink in. More than any other celebrity, this was like losing a family member. Reply #33. Aug 30 07, 2:55 PM |

Supersal - "I can remember being really shocked when Richard Beckinsdale died. He was only in his early thirties." Yes, I thought it was a sad waste too, and ironic that he was alone when he died because his wife was in hospital for fertility treatment. I didn't know who River Phoenix was when I heard of his death, but I remember feeling angry at reports which said that this young man's friends put his reputation ahead of his need for help. Wasn't River Phoenix the one who died outside the Viper Room club in LA? I only know this because Johnny Depp once co-owned the place. Reply #37. Sep 10 07, 1:57 PM |

Jerry Garcia, Frank Sinatra - grew up with his music as he was my Dad's favorite and that's whose music I was taught to slow dance to by my Dad- John Lennon, and Jim Henson (Muppets) because it was the loss of such an imaginative and sweet man who changed my world and my children's..
