Having spent a good portion of my life writing advertising for various cosmetic companies, there's not a lot to choose between them - and if we mention brand names, doesn't that come under the heading of advertising, which isn't allowed on these boards? Reply #1. Feb 23 08, 12:36 PM |

I have problem skin, so I have to use Maybelline Pure makeup. For eyeshadow etc. I use either Maybelline or Covergirl. Reply #4. Feb 23 08, 3:57 PM |

Since the moderators haven't objected to brand names, I'm going to put forward my favourite line - Clinique. It's hypoallergenic, and one never has that 'made-up' feeling when wearing Clinique cosmetics. I don't wear make-up except for special occasions, but I do use the cleansing/toning/moisturizing basics, and their wonderful soap. Reply #7. Feb 25 08, 11:56 PM |

I personally am a loyal user of Maybelline cosmetics - my favorite colors being called "crowned jewels". These are all shades of purples that look great with any outfit. Reply #8. Mar 11 08, 10:36 PM |

Are crowned jewels a range of cosmetics all in purple or just one specific type-like eyeshadow? Reply #9. Mar 12 08, 6:26 PM |

I use Clinique for skin makeup and Avon for eye makeup. I won;t be seen without a little shadow, mascara, and lipstick and face powder. Reply #10. Mar 12 08, 7:02 PM |

My favorite right now is Everyday Minerals, and it's cheap too! Reply #11. Mar 12 08, 10:31 PM |

If this is considered advertising - then everytime a song or a movie is mentioned, isn't that considered advertising also? We're getting carried away with this censorship! Reply #13. Mar 16 08, 2:06 PM |

I use Dermalogica skincare and shampoos. Make-up would be a mix of Mac and Clarins brands; plus hippy organic lip balms made locally:-) Reply #14. Mar 21 08, 6:39 PM |

I've always used Covergirl. I can't afford really expensive makeup brands, so I stick with this one. Reply #15. Mar 21 08, 7:06 PM |

Olay products for my moisturizing and Bare Escentuals, bareMinerals for my face makeup. And no matter how many mascaras that I've tried, and I've tried a bunch, I just can't beat L'Oreal Double Extend. Reply #18. May 25 08, 10:37 AM |

YSL Touche Eclat is magic - bit more gentle than Polyfilla, but does the same job. My kindly (or is he trying to tell me something) OH, always puts some in my Christmas stocking... bless! Reply #20. May 25 08, 12:08 PM |
