As far as daytrips go, I have to vote for Busch Gardens. But I'm such a huge fan of all the Disney parks...Animal Kingdom is by far my favorite. It's just so different.

I was lucky growing up. When I lived in Virginia we went to Kings Dominion, Busch Gardens (Both in VA) and Hershey Park (PA) many times. I've also been to Disney Land and Disney World, though when I went to Disney Land they didn't have as many attractions as they do now. Also went to Wet n Wild water park in FLA and I live close to Carowinds which is literally on the border of South and North Carolina. There's a bridge in the park where you stand half in one state, half in the other.

Alton Towers, England (I prefer this one to Disneyland Paris)

I enjoyed my visit to Six Flags, gurnee, IL. The family had a great day there. A little something for everyone.

I had the pleasure of going to Disney World (Florida) the first summer it opened. Orlando was small and we camped near an Orange orchard.

Knoebles in Pennsylvania. Old, very different, and plenty of rides for all. Best of all it is free to get in with free shows. Of course I also love Disney World, but it has gotten very expensive.
