Gatsby, when I was younger my friends and I used to go to Livermore Cemetery where Night Of the Living Dead was filmed, just for thrills (and drinks). You can't imagine how creepy that place is, even in daylight. Most of it is under water now, which makes it all the scarier - the church steeple can be seen above water. Wild dogs (and who knows what else) roam the woods, and it's become a popular place for suicides.

Wow...... that is creepy!

I really don't like horror movies, and the scariest movie I've seen is Gremlins, so.........

The Exorcist was the scariest for me. It was made in the days before gory horror movies were made.

Agree with Linda, 30 days of nights was another really scary movie, although a bit gory at times. But knowing there was going to be no day for so long so there was no let up. It was a great movie with a sad ending.

What about the original Blob movie starring Steve McQueen? An oldie, but a goodie.

I like scary movies not slasher flicks. I really like the Korean and Japanese horror films. The Maid,Silk, and The Wishing Stairs. I find that the American remakes of the Asian movies really suck. The Ring loses a lot in translation,so does Dark Waters.

The Saw movies! They're so horrendous, I can hardly watch them! My brother and his wife love to watch my reactions when they get me to watch their horror flicks with them!

"Strays". It was a movie that was made back in 1991. I have always loved cats, but to see what a bunch of stray cats did to that family really freaked me out.

I was scared when I first saw The Evil Dead. I was only 7 at the time. I was also scared by Event Horizon. Again I was only 7 or 8. The only movie that scares me now that I can think of is Arachnophobia because I'm affraid of spiders.

"Idiocracy"- it is supposed to be a comedy, but it is actually a disturbing look at the reality that is "the dumbing down of the USA".

I was forced to watch The Exorcist when I was about 5 or 6 years old. That movie is terrifying to a child, let me tell you! I was scared for days afterwards & slept with the light on in case Regan showed up!

"Alien" scared me pretty good. That was a true horror movie.

Another was "John Carpenter's, The Thing". I looked at my younger sister very warily for at least four months after that crazy movie ticket purchase.

Harry Brown with Michael Caine is pretty scary without any aliens or vampires. Not exactly pleasant viewing but brilliant nonetheless.

Callie: It's disturbing that you had been forced to watch "The Exorcist". Horror movies should never be seen by young children.
