I agree with Cymruambyth and astir-Chariot's of Fire is great. My favorite soundtrack is from Man in the Iron Mask (1998). Reply #43. Apr 09 12, 11:05 PM |

I think that the soundtrack from 'Meet Joe Black' is superb, as is 'Bladerunner'. I agree also with C30 that the 'Battle of Britain' soundtrack is very special... A few years ago I saw the film with the restored score by Sir William Walton... absolutely marvellous! Reply #45. Apr 10 12, 12:01 AM |

Right off the bat "Amadeus", "Master and Commander", and, strange as it seems, the "Drive" soundtrack is pretty good. There are many, many great soundtracks out there. "Groove", "Last of the Mohicans", "The Third Man", many, many, many. Reply #46. Apr 10 12, 12:36 AM |

The “Spider-Man 2” soundtrack has an amazing mixture. The “Twilight” soundtrack has some misses (Robert Pattinson, stick to acting) but has some goodies. But the best soundtrack I own belongs to “Garden State,” with Frou Frou, Zero 7, The Shins, etc. Reply #47. Apr 11 12, 9:42 AM |

In terms of musical score definitely "Jurassic Park". In terms of the bands, I'd have to go with "Garden State" for The Shins and "The Hunger Games" for Arcade Fire and The Decemberists. Reply #48. Apr 11 12, 10:10 AM |

I'm surprised no one mentioned 'Footloose', so let me be the first. Also, now that i think of it, i liked the soundtrack of 'O Brother, Where Art Thou?' Reply #50. Apr 11 12, 10:00 PM |

George48: It might be the reason nobody mentioned the two films you did was because somewhere out there there was another thread like this one.....maybe in the music category. I agree with you that "Footloose" and "Oh Brother...." were great soundtracks! I believe the critics also agreed, as at least one of these movies won an Oscar for best musical score/soundtrack. "Goodfellas", which also happens to be one of my top three movies of all-time, has a great soundtrack. It's got great Stones songs in it and Scorcese was brilliant to use Donovan's "Atlantis" the way he did during the killing of Billy Batts. Reply #53. Apr 20 12, 5:56 PM |

Despite being IMO a terrible movie franchise, I've just seen how awesome all the Twilight soundtracks are. I mean, Death Cab for Cutie, Bon Iver, OK Go, Grizzly Bear, Thom Yorke of Radiohead, The Killers, Florence + The Machine, Muse, Fanfarlo, Vampire Weekend, The Joy Formidable, Angus and Julia Stone, The Black Keys, Bombay Bicycle Club... All great bands. That's probably my favourite soundtrack, just before the others I mentioned. Reply #57. Jun 07 12, 7:53 AM |

I've got the Forrest Gump soundtrack. Love that era of music. Soundtracks from Saturday Night Fever, and Flashdance are good, too. Reply #60. Jan 04 13, 7:00 AM |
