Subject: Citroens as "Cars of the Future"

I first posted this in Ask FT, where it was suggested I try here...

This may be tough to answer, in keeping with the original intent of Ask FT: I imperfectly recall a late 1970s or early 1980s American made-for-TV movie set some decades into the future, which had people driving around in places like Washington DC in futuristic cars- except that they were really the Citroen DS, which had already been in production since the 1950s! I don't recall its plot- I was too distracted by the cars. Not "Sleeper." My question is, what was the name of that movie?

Since Citroens are quite rare in the US, the producers must have believed they could get away with such a cost-saving approach. Does anyone recognise this movie?

Thanks, that is an amazing resource, but I don't see my film there. Not surprisingly, the DS is in many French and other European films (36 pages on IMCDb), but the American one I remember was relying on the DS's rarity in the US. Of the few American films/series shown there, none match.

I know this isn't what you are looking for, but this is pretty cool.

You're right, it's not my film, and it is cool! Cars of the future are supposed to fly, anyway...
