Anyone else a "Dexter" fan? Looking forward to Season 7 starting on Sunday 9/30/12. The first of the final two seasons.

Where did you hear that these are the last two? I'm not surprised though, because it stretches credulity to the breaking point that he has not being caught yet, although i now know ;) that issue is being addressed this season.
I never missed an episode and plan to be front and center for the duration.
I'll bet, dollars to donuts, that the author of the books, Jeff Lindsey, that the show is based on, never thought that the show would be as successful as it was.
I'm even going to spring for some Dexter merchandise.

One of the producers said season 8 will be the last...here is an article from June of this year: http://collider.com/dexter-final-season-8/175777/ Or a Google search will turn up others of course, since after the first couple paragraphs there are spoilers in that article (I didn't read past the spoiler warning).

I'm with you on the merchandise...I really want the box of drink coasters/slides but haven't sprang for them yet. I've been a huge fan of the series when I discovered it at the start of Season 3 (I watched seasons 1 and 2 in about a week lol).

Definitely agree with you about Jeff Lindsay too, George. I'm betting he wish they would have optioned for more than the first book. I've seen an interview were the writers haven't read anything past the first book, because they wanted to keep the show fresh.

There are definitely spoilers from season 7, episode 1 in this post, you are warned.

I really can't believe they killed off Mike in the first episode. This must be a way of showing that no one is safe from being killed off. The scene with Dex and Deb carried over from season 6 played out like I thought it would, but was surprised they went with her finding everything (slides, knives, etc) in the first episode. I thought they'd drag that out a couple weeks. Great start to the season. A lot going on, but I guess they are getting everything set/started for the season or two. It did bug me that Dex would kill the Ukrainian guy while under the microscope of Deb...instead of turn the info over to Metro. I wouldn't think he would do that given his past/the Code.

Well, maybe it's just budget cuts. Although it wouldn't surprise me to see someone from the main cast dying before the end of the season (LaGuerta?).

I'd have to agree with that...I don't think anyone is safe for the next two seasons.

I'm a little disappointed they killed off Louis so fast. I thought that was going to be a half season/season long thing. I don't think it had a chance to fully run it's course. The introduction of Yvonne Strahovski was good though, for the next phase of the season.

I think Louis as a character had run his course. No point in keeping him around any longer. Besides, the manner in which he was killed has more to offer to the storyline in the long run.
