Subject: Django Unchained

Quentin Tarantino's revenge furelled western, Tarantino's name on a film is usually enough for me to not bother watching a film.

A film that harks back to the 70's spaghetti western genre, Jamie Foxx as Django a slave freed from his shackles by King Schultz a former Dentist turned bounty hunter, Schultz has his own agenda whilst Django played brilliantly by Jamie Foxx attentions are specifically trained on a imoral plantantion owner Calvin Candie who has taken Django's wife as his own.

As expected lots of blood and gore we have all come to expect from Tarantinos movies but this has sizzling Dialogue and wicked action scenes and is visually stunning.

Highly reccomend this movie and by the way the names Jango the D is silent

Can't believe you don't usually bother with Tarantino though! Awesome films!

One thing that has left me totally shocked, is the great Samuel Jackson as the head slave in De Caprios household, did not recognise him the makeup was so good, looked a perfect uncle Tom.

I'm looking forward to seeing it. I really enjoyed Pulp Fiction and even though Tarantino's style of direction is a bit over the top and weird, it's usually very entertaining.

All action.. typical spaghetti film.. far fetched.. but a great movie to see all the same.

I'm sorry that I missed this one in the theater. We rented and watched it and enjoyed it thoroughly. Loved the push outside of the box with the roles played by DiCaprio and Foxx.

We both said we wouldn't miss another Tarantino film, no matter what it was.

I also didn't like it. The violence was so extreme ( should have figured since it was Quentin Tarantino) that my husband and I looked at each other about 2/3 of the way through and said, "do you want to keep watching?" Answer: no!

Apart from violence, I loathe Tarantino's political correctness.

All Tarantino´s and Rodrigues´ movies represent a problem for me. I have seen PF for several times - with a pen and a piece of paper to put it in order! I love their sense of humour, the jokes are excellent, I love humour, but for the price of blood and gore, I am not so sure.

I´d like to see all their films but I miss the courage.

What political correctness is Tarantino espousing DeepHistory? I'm confused.

The stereotype of the innocent minorities and the abusive, racist white Christian Americans.

PS. Please, let us not start a political or religious discussion in this thread. Let's just state our opinions on the movie.

"Tarantino's political correctness" are three words I never expected to see together.

When I watched the film I found to be over the top and full of what is to be expected of a Tarantino movie. It was violent, funny and a 'correct' amount of vengeance to boot. A wonderful movie. Some of course who wished it to be politically correct watched the wrong film. Or didn't understand the times.
