I am from the south. Southeast Texas. It bothers me that networks just love to present people in such a way that the rest of the world takes it to be fact. The show is awful. It is rehearsed. Nothing real except that they do make the best duck calls. Reply #1. Dec 29 13, 12:05 AM |

It's about a family & their business. I like it because some of the things they do are funny & that they're a Christian family. Reply #2. Dec 29 13, 6:19 AM |

A show that glorifies redneck culture. Just another part of the insidious dumbing down of America. Reply #3. Apr 17 14, 6:01 AM |

It bothers me, too, since it (and all the southern reality shows) make the rest of the TV viewing public think this is what the typical southerner is like. At least it's better than "Honey Boo Boo" though, a show that plays into every negative southern stereotype that exists. Reply #4. Apr 17 14, 8:06 AM |

I don't like it. I saw a news story about how the "stars" wanted more money per episode. I thought they were all rich to begin with. Here it's on A&E, which used to mean Arts and Entertainment. I view it as the Kardashians in camo. Reply #5. Apr 17 14, 9:15 AM |

I have never watched it but I have relatives in Louisiana who thinks that it is great. They visit several stores that are owned by the family and send me all kind of things. Yes, my family is kind of red-necked but fun. Reply #7. May 09 14, 6:08 PM |

I hate all "reality" TV shows, but Duck Dynasty is truly awful. Arts and Entertainment used to be mentally stimulating, now it kills neurons like the other networks. Reply #8. May 12 14, 6:22 AM |

I think I saw 1-2 mins of it while flipping channels and soon realized why I was flipping the channels in the first place. What trite. Reply #11. May 29 15, 6:08 PM |

Shows like Duck, Honey, Duggars etc. are the type of programs I'd never watch. If that was all that was on I would stop watching TV altogether. A&E is just one network that isn't as good as it used to be. HGTV is the one that really bothers me. It used to be full of programming you could learn something from (architecture and carpentry, decorating, crafts, gardening) and now it's full of house hunters. Fun to watch sometimes yet nothing to be learned from it. Reply #12. May 30 15, 1:54 AM |

I have no idea why this show is so popular! I've seen 1 or 2 episodes & that was all I could stand to watch. Absolute drivel, in my opinion. Reply #13. May 30 15, 8:44 AM |

I like it, even if it was rehearsed. I'm sure that some of it is real! I also like how they are a Christian family. But if you dont like it, that's your choice. Reply #14. May 30 15, 9:09 AM |

I don't know how people can watch a program for a minute or two or not at all and make an informed opinion about the show. If you are comparing this 'reality show' to other 'reality shows', I think this show holds up very well. If you are comparing this show (Duck Dynasty), to Masterpiece Theatre or Kraft Theatre, this program will come up wanting. One of the things that Duck Dynasty emphasizes is family, and each show ends with a sit down dinner with the entire extended family, thanking God for their blessings. This show is not for everyone, but if you give it more than a minute or so, you may, or may not, come away pleasantly surprised. Thank you for taking the time to read my comments. Reply #16. I try my best not to think about shows like this. And hope they just go away. Reply #17. Mar 02 17, 6:31 PM |
