Subject: American Horror Story: Hotel

I've never watched this show before but decided to check out the new season's first episode because Lady Gaga was in it. I'm not easily shocked but this show knocked me for a loop. Nudity and sex don't faze me, but the nasty, violent sex really creeped me out. Am I the only one with this reaction? My only exposure to Ryan Murphy is "Glee," and this show couldn't be more different. Any thoughts?

I haven't seen the new episodes yet, but a few days ago, I just found season one on Netflix. It's pretty good, and not as bad as the later one that you describe. I don't understand why they feel they can't tell a good story without the sex and violence. Season one, the one I watch, is pretty much just horror, which is fine with me.

AHS is a little violent at times, which I am not a fan of, but I can look past it because I think the show is very interesting. So, if you like something a little different, you should give it a shot. I wasn't crazy about the last season, but seasons 1-3 were very good, imo.

I missed most of last season, wonder how long it'll will be until it shows up on Netflix?

This season seems a lot more visually intense than previous seasons. I remember the media making a fuss about Dylan McDermott's bare backside in the first episode, seems almost comical compared to this season.

I believe the last season is on Netflix now.

I'm not sure how I feel about Hotel so far. I wasn't expecting this type of supernatural...ness.

Not really my favourite one, you can't really feel any sympathy or engagement with any of the characters. Jessia Lange is sorely missed, it would have been good to see her play another type of role, other than fading and bitter beauty.

As far as I know it has not been shown here as yet, but now having been warned I don't think I will bother. There is already too much crap on TV to indulge in more.

We learned who the 10 Commandments Killer is. Is anyone surprised?

Mommakat... umm, why would you even post that? You haven't seen the show at all yet you've already judged it and called it crap. How about next time you watch something for yourself and THEN judge it?
Sorry, I just can't fathom you coming here just to bash it. Especially if you haven't even SEEN it.

Well, I partially agree with Mommakat. Do the Tv producers really think that we need to see inappropriate stuff just to stay interested? Though I wouldn't call it anything before I watch it, I say that they should just give a good plotline to keep us interested in the show, and not profane stuff. P.s. I am never gonna watch this show, thanks for the heads up!

Seasons 1 through 5 on deck!

One horrorathon about to begin!

Sex scenes? Boring!

Bare bottoms? Only if they are minions!

Violence? At 18, I was documenting crime so...I'm kinda jaded...
