Hate to ask but has anyone out there in the vast universe been watching this great series? I've been thoroughly enjoying the authentic fight sequences and Alexander Dreymon. It's not quite as good as Vikings and is set in the further period after Ragnar Lothbrok's death, with Alfred the Great. Stirring stuff!

It's an awesome show. I sure hope there will be a second season.

I watched this series a while ago when it was on British T.V. I thought it was good - rather gripping and intelligently done - though some people complained about historical inaccuracies. It's based on a series of books by Bernard Cornwell who also wrote the "Richard Sharpe" books which were very entertainingly televised with Sean Bean in the lead part. Cornwell certainly knows how to tell a story well.

Yeah the Sharp series was brilliant. The Last Kingdom is certainly entertaining what with the good acting and script. Makes a change to get a decent series on the telly.
