When they have practice runs, you know it's fake. (I read this somewhere, I'll do a search for reference) This is not to say there all injuries are faked though some are. Some are accidents happen when someone tries to alter what was to be planned or when something planned just went wrong.

The result is pre-written, which is the ultimate downfall of Wrestling.

It is fake although some "stuff ups" do occur which have been known to change the outcome.

My uncle works for a wrestling company and most of it is indeed fake. He helps plan out what the wrestlers are going to do. But sometimes things can go wrong or they put in a little touch of themselves so that it changes it up a bit.

Yeah I think it is fake, but some has to be real. Right? Like the weapon use has to be fake but the (at least) punching is real...sometimes.
I dont care if its fake or not- its fun to watch!

Wrestling is fake. The ref gives the wrestler a razor and he cuts himself. Triple h was most noticable at wrestlemania 20.

i always chuckle to myself when i predict what is going to happen (like who's going to come out when somebody is talking on the mic, what move someone is going to do next..etc) and then the exact same thing happens

Wrestling is scripted. Matches have a pre-determined winner, and the wrestlers do plan some of the moves they intend to do in the match. As a sport, it is fake, but it's not a sport, it's 'sports entertainment'.

Dakota North,

I beg to differ with your comparison between professional wrestling and professional football. Heck, nowadays, I'm not even sure that you could use "acting" and "gimmicks" as a qualifier to differentiate the two, as players like Terrell Owens and Chad Johnson sure like to work gimmicks and self-promotional mugging to the cameras in their "acts", lol, but I wouldn't categorize football plays as choreographed. The plays in football are strategies designed solely to defeat the opponent. I don't believe that the teams move in unison as "partners" to come to a predetermined conclusion, nor are any of the plays "choreographed" to make room for an "accidental" fumble or sack. I think that that's what differentiates wrestling as entertainment from football as sport.

Scripted yes. The actual fighting, bleeding, and injuries are real. But its entertaining nevertheless.

Wouldn't be surprised if "Pro" Wrestling gets phased out entirely in the next couple years with Ultimate Fighting making such a huge splash lately.

Why watch something fake and trumped up when you can watch something that's legitimate?

Pro wrestling is most definitely choreographed. I wouldn’t classify it as fake; extremely dramatized would be a more accurate description. I disagree with MrMoneybags statement “The actual fighting, bleeding, and injuries are real.” The fighting is a long drawn-out series of pulled “slaps” and moves assisted by the opponent. Most of the bleeding is some sort of coloured dye, the amount of “blood” that is drawn at the moment of the injury would indicate a serious laceration and the flow would not subside quickly, yet in most cases the flow of blood is minimal. The physical injuries and some of the blood are a natural side effect of any activity that places such high demands on the human body.
