Scratch and Grounder were extremely incompetent, and usually could not complete simple tasks. They were usually tricked very easily by Sonic. Their constant fighting with each other was often one of their biggest downfalls. Coconuts was also one of Robotnik's robots. He was demoted to being the janitor after Scratch and Grounder were created. Coconuts was more intelligent than Scratch and Grounder, and fell for Sonic's tricks less often, but still could not capture Sonic. He tried to capture Sonic, hoping that he would be promoted by Robotnik, but his schemes were often ruined by Scratch and Grounder.
