This Baz Luhrmann movie was released in 1992. Scott Hastings (Paul Mercurio) is the son of two ballroom dancers but his mother, a ball room dance teacher, is appalled that he wants to dance his own steps. This movie contrasts the highly structured and almost mechanised world of ballroom dancing against the much more passionate and free flowing latin american style - the Paso Doble - of Scott and his partner Fran. Of course the underdogs are victorious against the machinations of organised ballroom dancing and yes he gets to dance his own steps.

"Crocodile Dundee" was a successful film that was released in 1986, with of course the memorable line, "That's not a knife." Linda's role is Sue Charlton, a reporter from New York writing a story on the legendary crocodile hunter Mick Dundee. Of course it is inevitable that Sue falls for Mick and invites him to go to New York with her. The on screen love affair became a real life love affair.

"The Paul Hogan Show" was on television from 1973 to 1984. The show was a combination of stand up comedy and skits. The show usually started with Hoges as himself doing stand up comedy. The rest of the show comprised of skits with re-occurring characters and usually ended with Hoges as a bachelor with his dysfunctional flatmate.

"Pitch Black" (2000) - This film stars Vin Diesel and is the story of a group of space travelers that find themselves stranded on a planet with 2 suns, just in time for a solar eclipse. Beneath the surface of the planet lurks a nasty group of aliens who only come out at night.
The barren wasteland of Coober Pedy makes it very useful for films like "Pitch Black". Other desert films, like "Mad Max", have also been shot there.

And 'Kenny' is an Australian comedy about a man who installs portaloos.

Frank and Judith turn out to be criminals who are going to rob a bank. Malcolm joins them in the scheme, with help from some machinery to aid the getaway. It is very funny and very imaginative. For those who aren't aware, Bon Scott was the lead singer of AC/DC. He was from Perth and hence was buried in Fremantle Cemetary. The movie was filmed there.
