On Saturday Walter doesn't work, drive a car, ride in a car, handle money, turn on the oven, or roll because of what Jewish tradition?
Answer: Shabbos
Walter is far more bothered by his next league match occurring on Saturday than the kidnapping that took place. Later, Walter gives a stipulation to this rule when the Dude calls by stating that he's "not even supposed to answer the phone unless it's an emergency". He then goes on to mention that he knew it was an emergency and that's why he answered the phone, a great example of a post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy.
Shabbos is the 7th day of the week and the Jewish day of rest. Walter claims to be Shomer Shabbos which is a person who adheres to the laws prohibited in the Shabbat. As well as not doing certain things, a Shomer Shabbos is expected to do some good things such as; Sabbath meals, rituals, prayers, kindness, beningity, and rest.
