Answer: Albert Finney

Albert Finney worked with Tim Burton once before on the 2003 film 'Big Fish'. His deep, gruff voice is very fitting for Lord Everglot.

When Alfred calls his living wife Gertrude, she realizes it is him in corpse form and says "Alfred? You've been dead for fifteen years."

Answer: Victor has to die

Victor and Emily's marriage is invalid because they are only married until death do them part. Since Emily is already dead, Elder Gutknecht, voiced by Michael Gough, tells her they aren't married. According to Elder Gutknecht, the wise old man from the dead world, the only way Victor and Emily's marriage can be valid is if Victor drinks the poison to make his heart stop. Victor overhears them talking about this, and tells Emily he would die. Emily tells Elder Gutknecht that she could never ask Victor to do such a thing.

Answer: Lilies

Emily noticed Victor with another woman and assumed that he had been having an affair. When she went back to her room, she noticed a bunch of flowers nearby and each of them corresponded to something. She claimed that the lilies referenced sweetness.

Answer: Bones

Victor is surprised by the box of bones, which seems to move independently. Tossing the bones on the ground, they suddenly assemble into the shape of a dog's skeleton. This is Victor's former dog Scraps. Scraps performs several tricks, but he has difficulty with 'play dead'.

Answer: Playing the piano

On the piano, Victor plays the beautiful theme melody of the film, composed by Danny Elfman. Victor is interrupted by Victoria, who has become curious about the lovely music she hears while fixing her hair in her room.

Mrs. Van Dort is constantly warning Mayhew to silence his cough. Towards the end of the movie when Mr. and Mrs. Van Dort are searching for Victor, Mayhew coughs until he dies.

Answer: Finnis Everglot

After Victor agrees to die so that he and Emily can be remarried, they need to go up to the living world to perform the wedding. The Everglots including Victoria, their family, and Lord Barkis Bittern are sitting at the dining table eating a post-wedding meal when skeletons and corpses appear behind them. Mr. Finnis Everglot has his back to them, and says this line when one of the skeleton's eyes pops out and falls in his soup.

Answer: Vows were only legal until death did them part

Near the end of the movie, Emily was in her room when she received word of a potential problem in her future marriage to Victor. It had to do with the fact that the vows were only legally binding until death did them part. As Emily already had died, this put her and Victor's soon to be marriage on the line.

The remaining eye of Mr. Bonejangles falls into Mr. Everglot's soup, just as he is about to frighten the pants off the poor fellow. Mr. Everglot seems more annoyed than frightened about the eye, unceremoniously stating, 'There's an eye in me soup.'

Answer: Elder Gutknecht

Elder Gutknecht appears to know all about the art of magic. He is immediately able to help Victor and the Corpse Bride enter the land of the living.

Gutknecht's voice is supplied by Michael Gough, who Tim Burton fans may recognize as the butler Alfred from the 'Batman' movies. He also appeared in Burton's 'Sleepy Hollow'.

Answer: Lord Everglot

Lord Everglot says this twice in the movie. Once when he finds that Victor has fled, and another when the dead walk amongst the living. He is always grumpy.

Answer: Scraps

Emily gives Victor a wedding present that is a box of bones. Victor is horrified when he first opens it, but then the bones reassemble themselves into his old dog, Scraps.

Answer: His grandfather

Mr. Everglot, upon viewing the chaos, exclaims, 'Why, if my Grandfather Everglot could see this, he'd be turning in his grave.' Grandfather Everglot appears, and upon hearing his grandson asks, 'Finis. Where do you keep the spirits?'

Answer: Ukrainian

Apparently, the Ukrainian haunting spell merely requires the egg of a crow. Elder Gutknecht cracks open the egg and Victor and the Corpse Bride are soon spirited back to the land of the living. To return to the realm of the dead, they merely need to say 'hopscotch'.

Answer: He drinks the wine of ages.

Lord Barkis (trying to make a snobby exit) mistakes the wine of ages for regular wine. It is originally there for Victor to drink so he can die and marry Emily.

Answer: Victor

Victor is about to drink the poison at his wedding to Emily, when Emily stops him. She tells him that she loves him, but she knows they do not belong together. Lord Barkis Bittern crashes the wedding and tries to kill Victor, but Emily stands in the way. Lord Barkis then drinks the poison, obviously believing it to be wine. When his heart stops, the other dead corpses take out Emily's revenge on him. Mayhew is the Van Dort's driver who dies during the movie when he coughs himself to death and gets run over by the carriage.

Answer: Lord Barkis

At the wedding of Victor and Emily, Lord Barkis burst in and upset both the Corpse Bride and groom. Emily mentioned that Lord Barkis was the man who left her for dead on the night she was killed. Shortly after this, a fight broke out in the church.

Answer: Barkis

Barkis is killed after he drinks the poison wine that was supposed to be consumed by Victor. He is then pursued out of the church by the rest of the dead...they have a new member for their club!

When she steps into the moonlight, she turns into many butterflies. A butterfly is also shown being followed during the opening credits of "Corpse Bride". It is Tim Burton's trademark to have his opening credits following something or moving through something.
