Each Sietch is a safe place of gathering for bands of Fremen. Within a Sietch, the Fremen are referred to by their secret names, thus Paul's secret name Usul. Stilgar verifies to Paul that there are vast numbers of Sietches in existence.

Doctor Yueh succeeds in having the house shields lowered at the palace, allowing the Harkonnen troops easy access to the Duke and his family. Chaos reigns as the Doctor makes quick work of things!

Answer: Dean Stockwell

Dean Stockwell is an interesting Hollywood personality, having been a child actor beginning in 1945 with his appearances in films such as 'The Valley of Decision' and 'Anchors Away'. After doing a bunch of bit roles on TV and in films during the 1960s and 1970s, Stockwell seemed to have been rediscovered in the 1980s, and went on to appear in a lot of great 80s movies, not to mention the television show 'Quantum Leap'.

In 'Dune', the Sayyadina connected with the Fremen Seitch that Paul has become attached to is named Ramallo. This character is played by Italian actress Silvana Mangano. This was Mangano's second-to-last career film, and the only English language film in which she appeared.

Answer: Using a false tooth containing poison gas

Doctor Yueh is responsible for poisoning the Duke, but the poison seems to take a long time to have its effect, just enough time for the Duke to perform an act of revenge for the Doctor. Yueh removes one of the Duke's teeth and replaces it with a false one filled with poison gas. In order to use it, however, the Duke must be very close to Baron Harkonnen. Remember the tooth!

Baron Vladimir Harkonnen is played by actor Kenneth McMillan. He is a vile pederast whose bloated body is beset by disease. David Lynch apparently wanted to make sure that the viewers found the Baron repugnant, and he did an awfully good job!

Melange seems to be more than just life-expanding, it's also a very addictive and has psychotropic powers. Melange can only be found on one planet, Arakkis (aka Dune), thus why there is so much contention amongst the powerful families of the Landsraad.

Answer: Bene Gesserit

Bene Gesserit is a name derived from the Latin for 'she shall have behaved well', which is ironic because the Reverend Mother seems to behave pretty badly in this film! The Bene Gesserit is a long-lived sisterhood of witches who have learned to control their own bodies and minds, and can control the bodies and minds of others.

"Kill this child, she's an abomination." Alia's mother, Jessica, was already pregnant with her when she took the Water of Life. Thus Alia was born with all the knowledge and powers of a reverend mother and matured at an accelerated rate.

In return for this Mapes warns Paul that there is a traitor within the Atreides ranks.

When Duke Leto is near the Baron, Dr. Yueh, the traitor, tells him to remember the tooth. One good bite on it, and a strong exhale, will blow poisonous gas in the Baron's face, killing him.

This is Sting's turn to shine, as he utters the line 'I will kill you!' in a state of pure madness. It doesn't take long for Paul to dispatch of Feyd, though there are a few moments when his adversary gets the upper hand. After stabbing and killing Feyd, Paul emits a killing sound without the use of the Weirding module.

Doctor Yueh confronts the man who has killed his wife, Baron Harkonnen. Despite having betrayed the House of Atreides, Yueh still has a great hatred for Harkonnen, the man who killed his wife. Before Yueh is able to see his revenge exacted, however, he is killed by Piter de Vries.

Sting's madcap, over-the-top performance as Feyd was actually quite impressive, but unfortunately did not launch him into movie stardom. His next film, 1985's 'The Bride', was a box office bomb, and his acting career sputtered following it. Fortunately for Sting, he can also sing!

Jürgen Prochnow is a very recognizable face, having appeared in such films as 'Das Boot', 'The English Patient' and 'Air Force One', among many others. He also portrayed the key villain, Max Dent, in the Eddie Murphy movie 'Beverly Hills Cop II'.

Alicia Witt played Paul's sister, Alia and Francesca Annis his mother, Jessica. Silvana Mangano played the Reverend Mother Ramallo and was the wife of the film's executive producer, Dino de Laurentiis and the mother of Raffaella de Laurentiis, the film's producer. Sian Phillips also played the poisoner, Livia, wife of Caesar Augustus, in the BBC's "I, Claudius".
