Answer: Tomato

The Big Red is a name given by the snails to a juicy, big, red tomato in the garden. Most of the garden snails are waiting for this juicy tomato to fall off, so that they can devour it. Sadly, it falls and rolls off into the garden on "gardener day" and the snails are unable to eat it.
Everyone must have heard the fruit vs vegetable debate on tomatoes. It is the fruit of the tomato plant, but does not have high sugar content like other fruits, so it isn't as sweet. Because of the lack of sweetness, it is used mostly as a vegetable rather than as a fruit.

The pub used to film this scene was originally called the Tavistock Arms as it was located, not in Camden, but in Tavistock Crescent in Notting Hill. Similarly it is now known as The Crescent having spent a few years sharing its name with the pub in the film.

The name of the fictional pub could well have come from the names of two real-life Camden pubs, The Black Cap and Mother Red Cap.

"Free Birds" is a story about two turkeys who travel back in time to the first Thanksgiving to get turkeys off the menu. They succeed and replace the traditional meal to be pizza instead.

The Slaughtered Lamb is to be found on the edge of the Yorkshire moors and is visited by American students, Jack and David, in the course of their walking tour of England. Shortly after leaving the hostelry, the two are set upon by an unknown beast and Jack is killed. The pub sign, which is seen as the two enter the pub, shows the pub's name but curiously the image on it depicts not a slaughtered lamb but the decapitated head of a wolf on a pole.

A real-life Slaughtered Lamb pub can be found in Clerkenwell, East London, although it bears no resemblance whatsoever to the pub in the film.
