Whenever Zorro needed Tornado to come for him, all he would need to do is whistle a high-pitched whistle. The original Zorro (Hopkins) whistled for Tornado after the scene where he cut the letter 'Z' into Don Rafael's neck. Alejandro tried calling for another black horse later on in the movie so he could have a black stallion. Alejandro called the horse many names but the horse only came when he whistled.
