As he parks his van, he gets out and Napoleon asks why Uncle Rico is here. He tells her that their grandma went to the dunes and broke her coccyx, which is also known as the tailbone. Napoleon was unaware that his grandma went to the dunes.

"Peluca" was filmed before there was an idea to make it a feature film. At this time, the name 'Seth' was given to the title character of "Napoleon Dynamite". In the short film, there are two characters named Pedro and Gail. In the feature film, the creators combined these two into one character: Pedro.

Napoleon told Uncle Rico that they don't need him to stay with them because Kip is 32 years old, but Kip told Uncle Rico that he doesn't mind if he stays.

Napoleon and a few other boys are looking for work at the farm, which involves lifting chickens up from their nest and taking their eggs, then placing the chickens back in their cage-nest. After Lyle explains the job, Napoleon asks "Do they have large talons?" Farmer Lyle, as dumb as he is, has no idea what a talon is. Napoleon takes the chickens and he gets eggs, but one poops on his arm during the process. As reward of their work, they get lunch: toast with flies flying around it and cracked eggs mixed up into a juice-like substance to drink. Napoleon takes a little of each and consumes it. Since Farmer Lyle is out of dollar bills, he pays them all in spare change. That's when Napoleon discovers he has made six dollars for six hours of work.
