David picked up the bin and smashed the window because the door was locked. Shaun then lured away the zombies using himself as bait allowing the others to hole up in the pub. They then barricaded the door and attempted to come up with a plan of action.

As well as starring in the film, Simon also co-wrote the script with director Edgar Wright. The two had previously worked together on the British sitcom, "Spaced", which Simon had starred in and had co-written with Jessica Stevenson, who appears in this film in a minor but important role.

Nick Frost played Simon's best friend Mike in "Spaced" and appears in "Shaun of the Dead" as his best friend Ed. Dylan Moran plays David and Peter Serafinowicz (the voice of Darth Maul in "The Phantom Menace") plays Shaun's uptight flatmate, Pete.

Ed (Nick Frost) had known Shaun (Simon Pegg) since they were at primary school, and Ed stayed in a house with him and another of Shaun's school friends, Pete (Peter Serafinowicz). Ed and Pete did not get on and Ed didn't help by regularly insulting Pete and leaving the front door open.

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (Ed) were both co-stars/creators on "Spaced", a British sitcom. He also worked on "Hippies".

Tired of Shaun's lack of drive and his inability to go anywhere for a night out other than his local, the Winchester, Liz dumps Shaun. However, he still loves her and when the zombies attack he sets out to rescue her.

Shaun's girlfriend Liz is getting tired of Shaun's refusal to grow up and get a better paying job with a real future.

Incidentally, the store where Shaun works is Foree Electronics, named in honor of actor Ken Foree, the star of George Romero's 1978 horror classic "Dawn of the Dead".

Although the song only made it to number 7 in the UK charts, it stayed in the top 40 for 17 consecutive weeks, becoming the 13th best selling single of 1984. It warns of the dangers inherent in cocaine, addiction, and drug smuggling.

Shaun caught the packet of Hog Lumps (pork rinds) that David had thrown across the room on his entrance and offered one to Liz, Liz took the snack and David asked how Shaun got away from the zombies. Shaun replied that it was easy because the zombies were "not all that".

David was one of the two best friends of Shaun's girlfriend Liz (Kate Ashfield). He and his girlfriend Dianne (Lucy Davis) lived in a flat with Liz and were often visited by Shaun. Moran portrayed Pegg's trainer Gordon in 2007 Pegg film "Run, Fat Boy Run".

Played by Peter Serafinowicz, he is a minor character who hates Ed. Oddly enough, he's the one who kills Ed.

Shaun and Ed do not immediately realise that Mary is a zombie, they think she is simply drunk. When she attacks Shaun, Ed runs into the house and returns with a camera, still thinking that the drunken Mary is trying to kiss Shaun. Shaun has by this point realised that things are a little more serious.

This is another in-joke that only horror aficionados will get. Lucio Fulci directed a host of gory Italian horror films, like "Zombi" and "City of the Walking Dead."

George Romero and Dario Argento are popular horror directors in their own rights, while Tom Savini has provided gruesome special effects for a number of popular horror films past.

"That was the second album I ever bought!"

The record will come in handy later when the household objects the lads take outside to defend themselves against the zombies with no discernible damage.

Man Parrish was a pioneer of Electro music and "Hip Hop Be-Bop" was his first release. He has worked with Michael Jackson, Gloria Gaynor, Boy George and The Village People.

Answer: Don't Stop Me Now

The jukebox turned on, playing "Don't Stop Me Now" on random play and the landlord walked down the stairs as a zombie. Shaun told David to "kill the Queen" meaning turn off the jukebox. Then he, Liz and Ed fought the landlord with pool cues to the tune. Then Dianne began throwing darts, one of which became imbedded in Shaun's head.
This was a very funny choice of song due to the fact that, as if directly defying the lyrics of the song, Shaun stopped the music by thrusting the landlord's head into the jukebox.

After a particularly late drinking session at their local pub, The Winchester, Shaun and Ed were listening to rather loud electro music. Pete then stormed out of his room, threw the record out of the window and began a foul-mouthed rant at Ed, explaining that he had to be up early in the morning to go to work.

She was pretty unknown when she tried out. She was nominated for the Empire Award for Best British Actress for her work on "Shaun of the Dead".

In a cameo role, Sky newsreader Jeremy Thompson informs the nation that the assailants can be killed by "removing the head or destroying the brain".

Dylan Moran plays David, Bill Nighy plays Philip and Nick Frost played Ed. Simon Pegg also wrote this film. He also starred in and co-wrote "Spaced", a channel 4 sitcom shown between 1999 and 2001. He played would-be graphic designer Tim. Nick Frost was also in "Spaced". He played would-be soldier Mike, who got kicked out of the Territorial Army after he stole a tank and tried to invade Paris.

An oblivious Shaun has come back from the shop having failed to notice the zombie outbreak. Half the channels are showing breaking news, but Shaun doesn't stay on any one channel long enough to hear what's happening. Hence:

The song was written as a critique of popular music of the era. Ironically, it became pretty popular itself, reaching number 11 on the UK singles chart!

Answer: Shot his sister with an air rifle

Shaun had discovered that the rifle above the bar actually worked and asked if anyone had experience with a rifle. Ed replied that he had and Liz enquired as to what Ed's experience was. Shaun replied that he had shot his sister in the leg with an air rifle.
