Answer: Nigel Hawthorne

Hawthorne, born on April 5, 1929 in Coventry, England, United Kingdom, voiced Professor Porter. Professor Porter was part of the group who went to the jungle to study the animals. While there, Professor Porter bonded very well with his daughter, Jane. He took a keen interest in the animals who he encountered there and he also found Tarzan to be a unique individual. In the final scene, Professor Porter and Jane were on a boat and heading to the ship bound for England. Professor Porter told Jane that he noticed she was in love with Tarzan. This is when Professor Porter encouraged her to stay with Tarzan in the jungle. Hawthorne appeared in the films "Demolition Man", "The Chain" and "Gandhi". In 1995, Hawthorne obtained an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role for the movie "The Madness of King George", but lost to Tom Hanks for "Forrest Gump".

Kala (voiced by Glenn Close) took Tarzan back to the treehouse where he and his parents lived before their deaths. She told him what happened and showed him a picture of the three of them. Kala told him it was his choice if he wanted to leave the island or stay. Tarzan decided to leave with Jane and her father.

When Clayton revealed himself as a bad guy to Tarzan and the others, he trapped Tarzan, Jane and her father inside the ship. Tantor and Terk rescued Tarzan and he was able to get back to the island. Kerchak was shot saving Tarzan from Clayton's bullet. Clayton hanged himself accidentally when he tried to cut himself out of some vines. Before Kerchak died, he gave Tarzan the new name of leader of the gorillas.

In an early movie, there was actually a scene where Tarzan playfully pulls Jane's dress off and they swim in the river, in the buff. Kala saved Tarzan and the two of them escaped from Sabor. Midway through the movie, Sabor appeared and frightened several animals in the jungle. Tarzan came along and the two of them had an intense fight. Tarzan prevailed when he killed Sabor. Welker voiced characters on the TV shows "The Plucky Duck Show", "Fish Police" and "The Completely Mental Misadventures of Ed Grimley".

Phil Collins wrote and performed all the songs on the "Tarzan" soundtrack in 1999. For the song, "You'll be in my Heart", Phil Collins won a Golden Globe and an Oscar for Best Original Song.
