Imhotep was trying to resurrect Anck-su-namun in the movie The Mummy. Anck-su-namun was the lover of Imhotep and was also the wife of Pharaoh Seti I. She committed suicide after killing Pharaoh Seti I, and Imhotep tried to bring her back to life using the Book of the Dead. Interestingly, the character of Anck-su-namun was played by Patricia Velásquez, who was the first Latina actress to play a leading role in a Hollywood blockbuster. The Mummy was a huge success at the box office and spawned two sequels and a spin-off franchise.

In the movie The Mummy, the water turned into blood in Egypt as a result of the curse placed on Imhotep's tomb. This curse was meant to punish anyone who dared to disturb the tomb and awaken the mummy. Interestingly, the concept of water turning into blood is also mentioned in the Bible as one of the ten plagues of Egypt. In the movie, this transformation of water into blood was a gruesome and unsettling sight, adding to the overall horror and suspense of the film.
