Judges 9 tells the story of the evil Abimelech. Abimelech was the son of Gideon and one of his concubines. Jotham was the youngest brother, and he escaped Abimelech's murderous rampage. Joash was Gideon's father, and Jerubaal is what the people called Gideon.
