Answer: Who is like God or Yahweh
Micah of Moreseth is the sixth of the twelve minor prophets in the Tanakh. The Book of Micah records his prophesies and sayings. It was most likely written between 735 and 700 B.C. Micah describes God as perfect and unparalleled in showing love, mercy, kindness, salvation and faithfulness. Micah 7:18; "Where is another God like you, who pardons the guilt of the remnant, overlooking the sins of his special people? You will not stay angry with your people forever, because you delight in showing unfailing love. Once again you will have compassion on us. You will trample our sins under your feet and throw them into the depths of the ocean! You will show us your faithfulness and unfailing love as you promised to our ancestors Abraham and Jacob long ago." - NLT Bible

Answer: "Who Is Like Yahweh?"
Micayahu, shortened to Micahai, and even more abbreviated as Micah, means "Who Is Like Yahweh?" Micah even provides a hint to his own name and the concept of God as a unique being over all the universe in Chapter 7, vs. 18.
"Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy." (King James Version)

The last words of the similarly sounding Micaiah the Samaritan prophet in 2nd Chronicles 18 and also in 1st Kings 22 are the same in Hebrew as the first words spoken by Micah. Micah 1:1-2: "The word of the LORD that came to Micah of Moresheth during the reigns of Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah--the vision he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem. Hear, you peoples, all of you, listen, earth and all who live in it, that the Sovereign LORD may bear witness against you, the Lord from his holy temple." - NIV Bible

Answer: eagle
Micah 1:16 "Make thee bald, and poll thee for thy delicate children; enlarge thy baldness as the eagle; for they are gone into captivity from thee."
Eagles are important creatures in the Bible as they are considered majestic. They can usually live 20-30 years, and every year the adult eagles will have two eaglets, of which usually only one survives to become an adult eagle. (information taken from Rev. Tim Gibson's "Big Picture" Bible website).

Answer: seven
Micah talks about a coming Messiah or Saviour from Bethlehem, Judah. Christians believe this prophecy refers to the arrival of Jesus. Micah 5:2 says, "'But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.' Therefore Israel will be abandoned until the time when she who is in labor bears a son, and the rest of his brothers return to join the Israelites. He will stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God. And they will live securely, for then his greatness will reach to the ends of the earth. And he will be our peace when the Assyrians invade our land and march through our fortresses. We will raise against them seven shepherds, even eight commanders, who will rule the land of Assyria with the sword, the land of Nimrod with drawn sword. He will deliver us from the Assyrians when they invade our land and march across our borders. The remnant of Jacob will be in the midst of many peoples like dew from the LORD, like showers on the grass, which do not wait for anyone or depend on man."

Answer: Israel will beat many people in pieces
In the 13th verse, Micah prophesies that God "... will make thy hoofs brass; and thou shalt beat in pieces many people; and I will consecrate their gain unto the Lord, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth." (King James Version)
Compare this to the fate of the graven images in Micah 1:7. The same thing happens to these enemies of God who attack His people; the Jewish people beat both of them to pieces.

Answer: God Himself providing atonement for His people's sin
In chapter 7 Micah underlines the significance of the literal meaning of his name in exclaiming that 'who is like God' in that he is incomparable in His loving mercy, righteousness and justice to any other. 7:18-21 says, "Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea. You will be faithful to Jacob, and show love to Abraham, as you pledged on oath to our ancestors in days long ago." When people get into all kinds of sorrows and trouble because of sin, God in His love Himself finds a way and provides atonement. John 3:16 NIV Bible

Answer: Nebuchadnezzar's conquest of Jerusalem
In the NIV Micah prophesies about the future Babylonian conquest of the land and the subsequent exile of the Jews to Babylon. However he then says that the exiles will be rescued and redeemed from there and will return to their land. Micah 4:9-10 says, "Why do you now cry aloud-- have you no king? Has your ruler perished, that pain seizes you like that of a woman in labor? Writhe in agony, Daughter of Zion, like a woman in labor, for now you must leave the city to camp in the open field. You will go to Babylon; there you will be rescued. There the LORD will redeem you out of the hand of your enemies."

Answer: There will be peace among nations
Chapter 4 describes the holy exaltation of Mt. Zion and the Word. Micah 4:1-4 says, "In the last days the mountain of the LORD's temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and peoples will stream to it. Many nations will come and say, 'Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.' The law will go out from Zion, the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. He will judge between many peoples and will settle disputes for strong nations far and wide. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. Everyone will sit under their own vine and under their own fig tree, and no one will make them afraid, for the LORD Almighty has spoken."
