Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Pun turf en gore

Answer: pointer finger

Also known as the index finger, the pointer is between the thumb and middle finger on each hand. It might also be called the "trigger finger" if one is a hunter or target shooter.
2. Nick up

Answer: Kneecap

More formally known as the patella, the kneecap is that roundish bone at the knee joint that hurts so much when you hit it on something.
3. Tone aisle

Answer: Toenail

You had to use a bit of a Cockney accent to get that one, I imagine.

Most people have ten toenails, one on each toe, of which there are usually five on each foot. I did once know a boy who had six toes on each foot, so I guess he had twelve toenails.
4. Ready huss

Answer: Radius

The radius is a bone in a person's forearm, and most people have two (one in each arm). The other forearm bone is the ulna.

Huss is a type of fish, that my mother and I used to prefer for fish and chips dinners, as it has fewer bones than some other types of fish.
5. Shawl daub led

Answer: Shoulder blade

The scapula, to give the shoulder blade its proper name, is that big triangular plate-like bone in your upper back. You have two of them actually, one on each side and all the muscles surrounding them help you move your arms in a useful manner.
6. Call herb own

Answer: Collarbone

The collarbone, or clavicle, is a painful one to break, so it was with hesitation that I fractured it here. Again, most people have a pair of these, on each side of the sternum (breastbone) and they can be quite prominent, especially on skinny people.
7. Hippy dormouse

Answer: Epidermis

I'm having visions of a fat little dormouse getting stuck in the Mad Hatter's teapot!

Anyway...the epidermis is the outer layer of your skin. That's the one you should protect from the sun, and other elements if you want to stay healthy. It's a pretty important component part of your body, that keeps all the inside bits protected and hydrated and such, so looking after it is a very good idea.
Less well known, but equally important, is the hypodermis, the innermost layer of skin.
8. You Taurus

Answer: Uterus

Only women have this body part, of course. Also known as the womb, the uterus is where babies grow and flourish until they are ready to be born.

Taurus is a sign of the Zodiac, symbolised by a bull, covering late April to early May.
9. Pressed date

Answer: Prostate

The prostate gland is something that only men have (equal time!) and is about the size of a walnut. It has a role in the reproductive system, and can become a problem for a man later in life.
10. Rye Tate tree ham

Answer: Right atrium

The right atrium is one of the four chambers of the heart, and given the title of this quiz, we had to fracture (break) at least part of a heart, didn't we?

Tate is a surname, associated with galleries and sugar, amongst other things.
