Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. ecaps

Answer: Backspace

By spelling the word "space" backwards, it allows you to work out the answer to the puzzle as being "backspace".
2. tops tops tops tops

Answer: The Four Tops

Firstly, you notice that there are four words that are the same. Therefore, you can safely assume the word "four" is involved. Secondly, the word used in this example was "tops", which indicates it is another word in the answer. The clue given for the answer indicates there are three words, allowing you to assume that the first word is either "a", "an", "the" or "it".

The Motown hint gives the answer to those who have heard of the band "The Four Tops".
3. Bojackx?

Answer: Jack in the Box

This type of word wise has a word in the middle of another word and uses "in" as the reason why it can become a saying, for example. By using this, the word "jack" is in the middle of a word "box" and when you add "in" the sequence, plus add an article, the answer becomes "Jack in the box".
4. Devils horseback

Answer: Devils on horseback

A wordwise where a word is on top or over another word. This example is "devils" on top of "horseback", therefore the answer is "devils on horseback". "Devils on horseback" is a recipe consisting of dried fruit (usually prunes) stuffed with cheese and/or nuts, and wrapped in bacon.
5. Trial jury

Answer: Trial by jury

This is an example of two words next to each other and in this example it is "by", although it could have been "next", "side", "behind" or "in front of". Because "Trial" was beside or by "Jury", the answer is "Trial by Jury".
6. Tru______________________th

Answer: Stretch the truth

Using a long line between the letters of the word "truth" means that the word is stretched. Thus the answer to this wordwise is "stretching the truth".
7. Ocean property

Answer: Ocean Front Property

Words beside themselves can mean a number of things, such as in front, behind, next to, beside, following. The wordwise in this case has ocean property as the clue, thereby giving either answers as being "oceanside property" or "ocean front property".
8. Sealedkiss

Answer: Sealed with a kiss

When the two words are joined, then the options are with, plus, together. Therefore, "sealedkiss" gives the most obvious answer as "sealed with a kiss".
9. R___U___M___O___R___S

Answer: Spreading Rumors

When a word has strokes or lines between each letter, it indicates spreading. When you look at the word "rumors" with the lines between each letter meaning spreading, you realise the answer is "spreading rumors".
10. pic2Bkle

Answer: To be in a pickle

This type of word wise has a word in the middle of another word and uses "in" as a reason why this has happened. Therefore, "2B" translates to "to be" and as it is in the middle of a word "pickle" and when "in" is added, the answer becomes "To be in a pickle". The expression means that someone is in a little trouble or a sticky situation.
