- Carol Channing (Seattle) was an American actress, comedian, singer and dancer who starred in Broadway and film musicals. In January 1964, Channing originated the role of Dolly Gallagher Levi in the Broadway musical 'Hello, Dolly!" The show was a huge success, and Channing performed the musical more than 5000 times.

- Bill Gates (Seattle) is an American businessman and philanthropist best known for his roles at Microsoft Corporation. One of his biggest splurges was the Codex Leicester, a collection of writings by Leonardo da Vinci. He acquired the codex at a 1994 auction for $30.8 million.

- Gypsy Rose Lee (Seattle) was an American burlesque entertainer, stripper, actress, author, playwright and vedette famous for her striptease act. In the 1940s she was in love with theatrical impresario Mike Todd, who produced two Broadway shows starring her ("Star and Garter" and "The Naked Genius"). She married Alexander Kirkland in 1942 to make the already-married Todd jealous.

- Judy Collins (Seattle) is an American singer-songwriter and musician with a seven-decade-long career. She served as one of several celebrity witnesses to testify at the trial of the "Chicago Eight" featuring defendants, Abbie Hoffman, David Dellinger, Jerry Rubin, Tom Hayden, Bobby Seale, Rennie Davis, John Froines and Lee Weiner (1969-1970).

- Jimi Hendrix (Seattle) was an American guitarist, songwriter and singer. His many guitar-playing quirks include playing with his teeth, behind his back, or without touching the instrument's strings, he also played his guitar upside-down-though there was a very simple reason for that. He was left-handed.

- Earl Anthony (Tacoma) was an American professional bowler who amassed records of 43 titles and six Player of the Year awards on the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Tour. Earl Anthony was a minor league baseball pitcher with the Baltimore Orioles organization before his days as a professional bowler and was an excellent golfer, achieving a near-scratch handicap at the age of 60.

- Hank Ketcham (Seattle) was an American cartoonist who created the "Dennis the Menace" comic strip, writing and drawing it from 1951 to 1994. His "Dennis the Menace" characters appeared on Dairy Queen's shakes and Ice Cream containers and he paid for the creation of "Dennis the Menace Park" in Monterey, California.

- John McIntire (Spokane) was an American character actor who appeared in 65 theatrical films and many TV series. He replaced the lead actors in two highly successful Western TV series after they passed away during production. He replaced Ward Bond as the wagon master on "Wagon Train" after Bond died in 1960, and he replaced Charles Bickford as the owner of the Shiloh Ranch on "The Virginian" after Bickford died in 1967.

- Frances Farmer (Seattle) was an American actress. She appeared in over a dozen feature films over the course of her career, though she garnered notoriety for sensationalized accounts of her life, especially her involuntary commitment to psychiatric hospitals and subsequent mental health struggles.

- Howard Duff (Charleston) was an American actor. His most memorable radio role was as Dashiell Hammett's private eye Sam Spade in "The Adventures of Sam Spade" (1946-1950). Due to accusations of him being a communist and with his TV and film career starting to take hold, he ultimately left the program in 1950.
