Answer: plant/vine bending

We have seen someone do plant/vine bending in the episode "The Swamp", however it was revealed that the person was simply bending the water that was present inside the vines and was using the swampy conditions to make it as if he was an earthbender. Metal bending was mentioned in the episode "The Drill" when Aang wishes he was a metal bender so that he could disable the drill with ease rather than relying on water and air bending. Metal bending also occured in the second season finale where Toph learns to metal bend. Sand benders were introduced in the episodes - "The Library" and "The Desert" where they were following the Aang gang so that they could steal Aapa. Lightning bending is used throughout the second season by Azula and is also used by Iroh when he is teaching Zuko about how to counter Azula's attacks.

Answer: Bato

Bato isn't actually related to Katara and Sokka even though he is something of a paternal figure to them. He was part of the tribe and seemed to be very good friends with Katara's father. When the tribe entered the war, Bato was left behind due to excessive injuries and that is where he met Katara, Sokka and Aang.

He also brings them news of their father. Hakoda is the name of Katara and Sokka's father. Sokka is the other main character in the series and the brother of Katara. Kanna is the real name of Gran Gran who as the nickname suggests is Katara's grandmother.

She is also the makeshift leader of the tribe while all the men are out to the war.

Answer: Meng

Meng is the assistant of Aunt Wu and she was interested in Aang, not Sokka. She kept stalking him until she realized that Aang was interested in Katara. Princess Yue was the princess of the North Pole water tribes. She and Sokka truly expressed their feelings for each other even though Yue was engaged to Hahn. Ty Lee is part of the Fire Nation and helped Azula hunt down the Avatar and Azula's brother, Zuko.

After a fight with Sokka, Ty Lee commented to Mai (another girl who was part of that elite group) that she thought Sokka was cute.

Answer: Bei Fong

Bei Fong is considered one of the richest families in the earth kingdom and they hold a lot of respect there. Even though technically it hasn't been revealed that Toph's last name is Bei Fong as well, this is assumed by many fans of the series. For that reason the hint was given so that people who never thought of Toph's last name knows where the information is coming from.

In fact, it is the Bei Fong's symbol of the flying boar that allowed Aang to find Toph.

Answer: Jeong Jeong

Jeong Jeong is the first deserter of the Fire Nation army. He is famous because he was the only one to abandon the military and live. He was chosen by Avatar Roku to teach Aang firebending. At one point he had also taught Admiral Zhao. Ursa is Zuko's mother's name and seems to be one of the only people from the firebending royal family who genuinely loves him. Azulon is the grandfather of Zuko and the father of Ozai.

He was infuriated when he heard that Ozai wanted to take over the throne after Iroh gave up.

He was later proclaimed dead due to unknown causes. Sozin is the great grandfather of Zuko and the grandfather of Ozai. He was mentioned as the fire lord who started the war by using a comet to form a deadly first strike. The comet is also named the Sozin's comet which is when Fire Lord Sozin's name is clearly mentioned.

Answer: Pai Sho, Tea, Lotus piece

Iroh is famous for continuously sipping tea. His entire life revolves around making a cup of tea and he seems to be really good at it. Pai Sho happens to be his favorite game and in his free time he keeps playing that game. The lotus piece is analagous with Iroh's strategy making.

He always comments on how he cannot play a game of Pai Sho without his precious lotus piece. He also went so far as to change the direction of the ship since he lost his lotus piece and wanted a replacement. Interestingly enough, some of the other choices also hold true for Iroh's character.

He is a lightning bender but not famous for it. He does have a fair amount of sarcasm but is more known for his easygoing nature than for sarcasm. He is considered a failure by most of the fire nation.

He loves music and plants and seems to be very knowledgeable on both subjects.

Answer: Shortstaff

The various freedom fighters were all introduced in the episode "Jet" even though only Smellerbee and Longshot reappeared in future episodes with Jet. Duke was the official wrestler of the group and wasn't given much prominence in the episode. The same for Sneers who is an expert on hand to hand combat. Pipsqueak was the guy who Aang made fun of because everyone thought that Pipsqueak was the little guy standing next to him.

Answer: Koh - owl

Koh: the faceless one steals the face of all his visitors who show any emotion when speaking to Koh. One of the faces he owns is an owl's face even though he is really a centipede. Wan Shi Tong is the owl spirit who owns the library of knowledge. Hei-Bei is the bear spirit of the forest that Aang encounters in his first trip to the spirit world. Tui is the spirit of the moon that was killed by Admiral Zhao so that he can defeat the water tribes of the north.

Answer: Unagi - waterbending

Aapa (flying bison) in the past has been shown to blow large amounts of air and control to a certain degree the air that comes out. It is also because of airbending that a huge flying bison like Aapa can actually fly. In fact, it is for this reason that most young airbending monks are given flying bison as pets since it is the flying bison that first taught the air nomads how to airbend. Just like the flying bison, it was revealed that the badgermoles were the ones that taught the first earthbenders how to earthbend. Zuko reveals in the episode - "firebending masters" that dragons were the first firebenders and it shows dragons firebending.

The original waterbender is the moon and not the unagi. The unagi can spray water from its mouth but thats about all it can do.

Answer: Toph

The waterbenders all use the same fighting style which is called Tai Chi. Tai Chi in real life is associated with smooth and slow fighting movements which is somewhat analagous with the waterbending technique. Tai Chi is also associated with meditation and spiritual healing which is again a waterbending technique. All earthbenders use the Hung Gar base style where the basic form is standing with tiger claws when waiting for an opponent, something commonly practiced in the show. Hung Gar is also a very offense-based fighting style which is what eartbenders are known for. Firebending uses a northern shaolin style which like the earlier elements is very similar to the original fighting style.

The airbenders use Ba Gua, a style characterized by circular movements which is again similar to the airbending style of fighting. Now, Toph does not actually use the Hung Gar style of fighting, possibly because she learned earthbending by herself.

She uses the southern praying mantis style of fighting which is better suited for her since it requires waiting for the correct time to lash out a powerful offense on an opponent.
