Answer: Othello

The poignant "Willow Song" is sung by Desdemona in Act 4, scene 3, shortly before her murder by Othello.

3. A character who appeared from time to time is The Judge. Which comedian had a novelty hit record in 1968 with "Here Comes The Judge"?

Answer: Dewey "Pigmeat" Markham

The title was based on his catchphrase, which was also used in "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In". Markham (1904-81) was an American comedian who began his career in travelling shows and burlesque and later appeared frequently on US television's "Ed Sullivan Show".

For those who are too young to remember "Doctor Who" (which probably includes most fans of Buffy), The Master was a renegade Time Lord who popped up from time to time as one of the Doctor's regular enemies. Originally played by Roger Delgado in the early 1970s, he has now been impersonated by almost as many different actors as the Doctor himself.

Saint Giles was a hermit who lived in the late seventh and early eighth centuries, and his Saint's Day is September the First. He is also patron saint of rams, blacksmiths and breast-feeding (well, I suppose somebody has to be...).

L Frank Baum wrote more than a dozen books about the land of Oz between 1900 and his death in 1919. After his death, other writers such as Ruth Plumly Thompson continued to churn out further sequels on a more or less annual basis up until the 1940s, when the flow began to slow down somewhat. I don't think there are any werewolves in any of them, although I am happy to be corrected!

Answer: Central and South America

As most people know, vampire bats feed on the blood of sleeping animals (usually cattle, horses or pigs) by making cuts in the animal's skin with their teeth, then lap up (rather than suck) the blood that seeps from the wound. Their saliva contains chemicals that keep the blood from clotting and also numb the animal's skin to stop them waking up.
