Obsessive Compulsive Disorder can range from a feeling of unease if you don't double check everything before you leave the house to a life crippling illness. In the most severe form the obsessions are continuous. Many sufferers are obsessed with cleanliness and will wash their hands over and over again, others have to have things arranged in a certain way on their desk or in their room. Compulsive checking that electrical items are turned off, or that doors are locked is another symptom. Sufferers generally know that the obsessions do not make sense but cannot stop.
