10. During the war in the Pacific, what battlefield trophy did Marines covet the most?

Answer: samurai swords

Almost every combat infantry Marine wanted a genuine samurai sword. They were great conversation pieces and made excellent trade bait. Japanese pistols were notoriusly inaccurate and unreliable, but they ran a close second as a battlefield trophy.
