Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who says the first and last lines of the show? (In order, not including bows)

Answer: Linus and Lucy

The first line is said by Linus and is "I really don't think you have anything to worry about, Charlie Brown, after all science has shown that a person's character is not fully established until he is at least 5 years old." The last line, said by Lucy, is "You're a good man, Charlie Brown."

Charlie Brown was played by Anthony Rapp in the revival, and Lucy was played by Ilana Levine.
2. In the song "Snoopy" who brings him bones and scratches his ear?

Answer: Faithful friends

In the song "Snoopy", Snoopy sings, "Faithful friends always near me, bring me bones, scratch my ear. Little birds come to cheer me, ev'ry day, sitting here, on my stomach with their sharp little claws which are usually cold, and occasionally painful, and sometimes there are so many that I can hardly stand it... Rats!"
3. Who tries to break Linus's "disgusting habit" by stealing his blanket?

Answer: Lucy

He eventually gets his blanket back by confusing Lucy with a long explanation on why he should get it back. That's when his song, "My Blanket and Me", begins. "My Blanket and Me" is the only solo dance number in the entire show. Linus was played by B.D. Wong in the revival cast.
4. In "Book Report", who sings about the vegetables in Mr. MacGregor's garden?

Answer: Lucy

Lucy sings "There were vegetables in the garden, such as carrots and spinach and onions and lettuce and turnips and parsley and okra and cabbage and string beans and parsnips. Tomatoes, potatoes, asparagus, cauliflower, rhubarb and chives." That is a lot of vegetables!

During this song, Schroeder compares Peter Rabbit to Robin Hood. Linus shows his intelligence by analyzing the simple tale and Charlie Brown refuses to start writing. Sally and Snoopy are chasing rabbits.
5. What are the woods that Snoopy can see during the Red Baron Monologue?

Answer: Montsec

"All right, Red Baron! Where are you? You can't hide forever! Ah, the sun has broken through...I can see the woods of Montsec below, ca va, bon jour...and what's that? A Fokker triplane! Ha! I've got you this time, Red Baron."
This is about Snoopy's imaginary quest to destroy the red baron. The monologue is the first scene of the second act.

Roger Bart played Snoopy in the revival, and won a Tony award for his portrayal, as Kristin Chenoweth did for her portrayal of Sally.
6. Who says this: "Who was Socrates anyway, huh? Tell me that! Did she ever get to be queen?"

Answer: Lucy

She says this after Schroeder tells her that she is crabby, referring to Socrates saying "know thyself". Lucy then creates a survey asking for her crabbiness rating. Linus didn't wanted to answer at first, fearing that he would get "slugged" by his older sister. In the end, he gives her a rating of nienty-five out of one hundred, leading to his getting hit by Lucy.
7. In "Glee Club Rehersal", why are the characters fighting?

Answer: Linus stole Lucy's pencil and said something about Sally

Linus took Lucy's pencil because she took his crayons. Then Lucy threatened to tell Sally that Linus called her an enigma, a word that they do not know the meaning of.

In this song, the cast is rehearsing to sing at an assembly. The characters' lines are sung within the song "Home, Home on the Range".
8. Who inspired Charlie Brown to try really hard during the baseball game?

Answer: Red-headed girl

Charlie Brown had a crush on the little red-headed girl. This occurs during the song "TEAM", when Charlie Brown is describing the baseball game to his penpal. "Firmly I vowed I would win it for her and I shouldered my bat and I swung..." Unfortunately, Charlie Brown was not successful during his at-bat, and ended the song by singing "Dear pen pal, I'm told where you live is really quite far. Would you please send directions on how I can get where you are?"
9. What was worn by Snoopy during "Beethoven Day"?

Answer: Beethoven sweatshirt

"Beethoven Day" was sung mostly by Schroeder. he was trying to make Beethoven's birthday a national holiday. His friends, however, became much too involved in the commercial aspect of the celebration. Schroeder described his hopes for the holiday: "Let's imagine it...that glorious hour. Filled with emotion, yet inspired with power. When we all honor the man we adore, on the day we place the newest face on Mount Rushmore!"

"Beethoven Day" was one of the songs added for the revival version of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown".
10. In "My New Philosophy", who runs across the stage screaming about the world ending?

Answer: Lucy

This happens after Sally says "You know, someone once said that we should live each day as if it were the last day of our lives." Then Lucy runs across the stage screaming "Aaugh! This is the last day! This is it! I only have
twenty-four hours left! Help me! Help me! This is the last
day! Aaugh!" Sally then replies with "Clearly, some philosophies aren't for all people...And that's my new philosphy."

This song was added for the 1999 revival, in which Sally was played by Kristin Chenoweth. Other things added for the revival include the bow music, which is a newly written version of "Happiness", and Sally's character itself. Sally replaced Patty, who was acharacter in the original production but not the revival.
