Nell is the oldest sister. She found her bear mate in Book 1 in the Grizzly Cove series: "All About the Bear".
Ashley is the middle sister. She found her mate in Book 2: "Mating Dance".

Lyn is a widow panda shifter who lives in town with her 4-year-old daughter Daisy.

2. Since a reporter came to town to cause problems for Ashley, the sheriff sent the deputy sheriff to watch over Tina. What is the name of the deputy sheriff?

Answer: Zak

Zak Flambeau is his name. He is a black bear shifter and they are smaller than the grizzlies but no less deadly. With his smaller size he is a lot quicker and more agile than some of his larger comrades. He also has skills as a marksman/sniper.

3. One evening, when Zak was visiting the bake shop and Tina was working behind the counter, the bell above the door tinkled and in walked a newcomer to town. He was wearing dark wet clothing, had blood-red eyes and hesitant gait. What is he?

Answer: vampire

The vampire (or bloodletter as they also are called) is Hiram Abernathy. He is the Vampire Master of the Region where Grizzly Cove is located. He was out on his yacht, doing recon, when it was attacked and destroyed by something in the sea. Some kind of sea monster.

He wanted to know who is setting up house in his territory, even though we bear shifters don't come under his dominion. Due to the attack he ended up asking for safe harbor in Grizzly Cove, as he was in need of blood, so he wouldn't become mad. Zak let him bite his wrist and take some blood to protect his people and Tina.

4. Hiram received rows and rows of bite marks from the sea monster that destroyed his yacht. What liquid does he soak a towel in and put on his wounds to help him heal?

Answer: Wine

Hiram pours a bottle of red wine into a bowl, drenching a small towel. He then places the wine-soaked towel on his wounds. Wherever the wine-soaked towel touched, the skin was completely healed. this is one of the secrets of vampires that Hiram was made to reveal in order to heal himself. Drinking wine also helps

5. The next evening Zak asks if Tina wants to go out the following afternoon. What do they end up doing?

Answer: having a picnic

Zak picked out a spot near the cove for his date with Tina. He'd found a secluded area, a little like a glade surrounded by rocks on three sides, but open to the beach. Few would be able to see them if they had the picnic inside the rocky area, just before the tree line. Here they make love for the first time.

Zak likes to cook and made Cajun chicken, black-eyed peas and corn bread for their picnic lunch.

6. After the picnic Tina and Zak take a walk along the beach. What comes out of the water and attacks Tina?

Answer: a tentacle

A tentacle reaches out of the sea and wraps around Tina's ankle. She struggles to pull free, as it wants to drag her towards the water. Zak first shoots at it with his 9mm gun, but when that doesn't work he shifts into his black bear form and slashes at the tentacle with his claws and bites it. He manages to rip though the tentacle and free Tina.
They later find out what kind of creature the tentacle belongs to.

7. We have a town meeting after the attack on Tina, and there I tell them most of the tentacle will be shipped to the Lords and the high priestess in hopes of finding out what kind of sea monster it is. Do we find it out in this book?

Answer: No

Sadly this story ends before we find out what kind of sea monster attacked Tina and Master Hiram. It is revealed in the next book in the series, "Alpha Night", where I find my mate.

8. What is Zak's dream?

Answer: to own a restaurant

Zak loves cooking, but he can't afford to build a house and start a restaurant at the same time. Tina receives a check in the mail from Hiram to cover any clean up or inconvenience his recent visit might have caused. This gives Tina an idea; she talks it over with me first and I agree to her plan. Tina then calls Hiram and tells him she can't accept his check but that she has a proposal to make, using his money to build a new business in Grizzly Cove, a restaurant for Zak, with Hiram as a silent partner. Hiram agrees and says he can easily double the money if needed.

9. Near the end of the book, we have another town meeting and the last thing on the agenda is two new human sisters who want to open a shop in town. A vote is taken and it is agreed to let them come. What kind of shop is this going to be?

Answer: a bookstore

Ursula and Amelia Ricoletti want to open a bookstore. Their proposal for this had made it through Tom and Ashley's first inspection and up to my level. The final hurdle is a getting a yes from the town council, which it does. Book 4: "Alpha Night" has the opening scene in the new bookstore.

10. Where does Zak confess to Tina that she is his mate?

Answer: the empty lot where they will build his restaurant

Tina has the evening off to join Zak at a town meeting where the restaurant was up for consideration. The plans for the restaurant passed unanimously. They walk back to the bakery after the meeting and stop by the lot where the restaurant will be built.

It is next to the bakery. Here Zak blurts out, "Will you marry me?" to Tina. He hadn't planned to blurt it out like that. It just happened. He confesses he loves her and that she is his mate.
