Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the first book, Haley sends off one of Irene's sketches to a paper, and wins two tickets to California. She doesn't tell Irene, and as a result, loses her new friend. What is the name of this chapter when she loses Irene's friendship?

Answer: Don't Tell Irene

Too bad for Haley. I never chose this path in the book, but I was very cautious after my first experience with the second book.
2. In this ending, Coco is popping appetite-suppressant pills to get slim, and gets Haley to try them. When her family finds out, both girls are sent to a Psych Ward for two weeks. What is this ending called?

Answer: Slimming Effect

The quote put with the chapter is "Beware the easy perfection promised by a pill" which fits perfectly. I find this one of the more disturbing endings, and it's from the seventh book "What if...All Your Friends Turned on You"
3. This ending is called "New Jersey Water Torture". What happens to frosh girls Leah and Marissa in this?

Answer: They are forced to drink a gallon of water.

Poor girls! This disturbed me as well, and inspired my Year Ten speech topic: Hazing. The two girls were being "initiated", and ended up with water intoxication. In fact, Marissa nearly died from the overload of water.
4. In this chapter, Haley is playing strip poker with Coco, Whitney, Cecily, and the boys. She chooses to ante up with clothes, and ends up with no skirt and no top. When she realizes Spencer has videoed her, it is too late. What is this chapter called?

Answer: Take It Off

Not only had Haley been videoed, but Spencer put the film on the Internet. This particular ending kept me up all night after I read it, although it's not as disturbing as some of the others.
5. In the chapter "Report Cards Arrive", Haley's parents find out that Haley's school has been slipping badly. She ends up in summer school. Is this a "Go back to Page 1" ending?

Answer: No

There is usually one bad ending that doesn't tell you to go back to Page 1. This is the one for book four, "What if...Everyone Was Doing It".
6. In this ending, Haley decides to try and impress her photographer friend Devon by getting a tattoo. Her parents find out, and she is grounded over Christmas. She also got no Christmas presents and had her tattoo removed. What is the name of this ending?

Answer: Get the Tat

I thought this was pretty harsh. Haley was trying to get Devon away from a conniving freshman girl, Darcy, as well as trying to impress her artistic friends, but the consequences were disastrous.
7. In this ending, Haley uses her popularity status to her advantage and invites half the school to her house to celebrate her sweet sixteen. She forgets to invite her friends, gets found out by her dad, and ends up grounded and friendless. What is the name of this ending?

Answer: Rebel Yell

This ending is from "What if...You Broke All the Rules" Haley finds herself in a world with no one to tell her what to do, so she has to be the adult. There aren't very serious "Go back to Page 1" endings in this particular book, and this is probably one of the worst.
8. In every single "What if" book, DEAD END is written at the end of each "go back to Page 1" ending.

Answer: False

Actually, this only happens in "What if...All Your Friends Turned On You". I at first thought it meant that Haley died when I first found it at the end of one ending where Haley went anorexic, but I found it was at less serious endings and realized it didn't mean that.
9. In this ending, Haley has heard from Coco that Cecily has been trash talking about her all over school. Haley remembers a secret she confided in Cecily, and thinks that Coco meant that. She vents about Cecily on IM to Coco. Unfortunately, it turns out that Coco was lying, trying to get secrets out of Haley, and she succeeded. What is the name of this ending?

Answer: Take the Bait

This is from "What if...All the Boys Wanted You". Haley believes Coco because she told Cecily that she was having these dreams about Reese. Sadly, Coco not also finds out that, but she tells Reese and Cecily about what Haley said. The alternative choice is "Stay True" where Haley calls Cecily on IM and asks her about it.
10. In this ending, Coco and Whitney meet up with Haley on IM and dare her to spy on Reese. Scared of losing their friendship, Haley obeys. Sadly, Coco calls Reese and tells him Haley's spying on him. What is this ending called?

Answer: Take the Dare

This is the first ending in "What if...Everybody Knew Your Name". The alternative is to "Tell Coco Off", meaning Haley risks her new friendship with the popular girls, but still has a chance with Reese.
