Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What song do The Pussycats perform in a bowling alley at the beginning of the movie?

Answer: 3 Small Words

"3 Small Words" starts out with the words "I'm a punk rock prom queen..." It is the first song that Josie and the Pussycats sing in the movie. They perform it in a bowling lane at a bowling alley. It appears as if the people that were at the bowling alley were more interested in their game of bowling, than Josie and The Pussycats' performance.
2. Who cheers Josie up by asking her, "Who's a rock star?"

Answer: Valerie

After being ridiculed by stuck-up and obnoxious peers, Josie becomes depressed and walks away from the Pussycats' van. Valerie walks over to her, hugs her, and asks, "Who's a rock star?" twice. Josie starts to cheer up and replies with a smile, "I am."
3. Josie, Val, and Mel make a sincere oath amongst each other on the airplane that they will be "friends first" and what "second"?

Answer: a band

Taking time to reflect on themselves as a band, Josie, Melody, and Valerie swear to each other that they will always be friends. This happens on the airplane to Mega Records, in the city.
4. What does Les write on the bathroom mirror when Melody is in the shower?

Answer: "Beware Of The Music."

Dujour's Les tries to warn someone about the subliminal message dangers in the music by writing with lipstick on the bathroom mirror, "Beware of the Music". Melody is in the shower at the time, and is spooked upon noticing the message when she is out. To calm herself, she takes the lipstick and makes the "O" into a smiley face, and the "i" into a flower.

She then forgets about it all.
5. Fill in the blank with the missing song lyrics: "I've been staring at the _____. It gets dark inside, but I don't mind..."

Answer: sun some time

Josie sings those lines in their song, "Spin Around". It is a catchy pop song about love that Josie feels. The lyrics continue, with "... and if you're gone it's like I'm going blind. I can't get by this time." Josie performs this song in the movie.
6. What cartoon character does Melody tell Josie that she would like to meet if she could travel back in time?

Answer: Snoopy

Josie is pleading for Valerie and Melody to understand that she was brainwashed when she acted stuck up and too good for them. She says that she would take it all back if she could go back in time. Melody replies, "That'd be cool. If I could go back in time, I'd want to meet Snoopy." Josie tells her that she loves it that Melody thinks everything in life is possible, and that the world is a great place.

She mends the friendship between the girls and tells them that she loves them.
7. What is Fiona's subliminal message for the Big Concert that she tries to brainwash people into believing?

Answer: That she was cool.

Fiona tries to initially deny that she put subliminal messages under the music using the Mega Sound, but the machine is broke and malfunctioning, leaking her voice out. It is clear that she put the messages on there herself. She breaks down into a sad story about how she was always teased and ridiculed when growing up, and that all she ever wanted was to be popular.
8. What does Alexander say is the moral to the story, when Wyatt and Fiona find out who they both really are?

Answer: "You should be happy with who you are."

When Wyatt and Fiona unite, Alexander's sister snaps, "So, what's the moral to the story here? Freaks should date other freaks?" Alexander scolds her quickly, by saying, "No. I think the moral to the story is that you should be happy with who you are. All this time we've been spending money buying expensive clothes to try to impress people... That never made me happy... I'm not what I wear... Happiness is on the inside."
9. What song does Josie sing at her stadium concert?

Answer: Spin Around

While performing "Spin Around" at the stadium concert, Alan M. shows up in the crowd. People in the crowd hold him up to Josie, and he screams, "Josie McCoy... I LOVE YOU!" She tells him that she loves him, too, and that she always has. He walks onto the stage from the audience and kisses her.
10. When Agent Kelly has Wyatt and Fiona arrested, he whispers to them that the whole operation was going to be shut down after the concert, anyway. He then tells the reason for that. Why was the government going to stop Fiona and Wyatt's operation?

Answer: They found that subliminal messages worked much better when used in movies.

When Josie tells Agent Kelly and the rest of the government officials that are with him about Fiona and Wyatt's plot to brainwash the youth and manipulate their thoughts, Agent Kelly acts as if he didn't know about it, and has them arrested. He then whispers to them that he and the government were going to shut down the operation after the Big Concert anyway.

His reason: they found out that subliminal messages work much better in movies.
