Wyman is also well-known as the ex-wife of future U.S. President Ronald Reagan.
4. The young boy who played Jody in 'The Yearling', Claude Jarman, Jr., won an honorary Oscar for his performance.

Answer: Fodderwing

Fodderwing, played by Donn Gift, is a part of the Forrester family, a neighboring family that is both friend and rival to the Baxters. Fodderwing keeps many wild animals as pets. He talks to Jody about the mysterious visions he has, which perhaps inspired him in a futile attempt to fly. Having maimed himself at some point prior to the story beginning, Fodderwing sadly dies during the film.
7. Jody is desperate for his own pet, and finally is allowed, by his father, to keep a defenseless fawn he has found in the wilderness. What does Jody call this tiny deer?

Answer: Flag

One day when Penny and Jody are out in the wilderness, Penny is bitten by a deadly rattlesnake. In order to save his life, he kills a nearby doe and uses her internal organs to draw out the poison. Jody discovers that the doe has a newborn fawn with her and, after begging his father, is allowed to take the fawn home. He calls the fawn Flag after a suggestion by the dying Fodderwing.

Answer: Corn

After Flag eats all of the corn sprouts a first time, Jody insists that he will replant the corn crop and build a high fence around it. Unfortunately, after all of Jody's hard work, the deer finds its way over the fence and destroys the second corn crop. It's time for Flag to go!
9. Jody's father insists that the deer must be shot, as it cannot be released into the wild. Does Jody take the first shot at the deer when the time comes to kill it?

Answer: No

Jody is simply too distraught to kill Flag, and begs his father to reconsider. After Penny makes his final decision that Flag must be killed it is Ora who shoots the yearling. However, Ora's shot is not good and she merely wounds poor Flag. Jody has to go and finish the yearling off.
